Sphurti was launched by Late Krishnalal Mehta along with his brothers Late Kantilal, Late Vasantrai, and Mr.Dhirajlal in the year 1947. The brand was started as a small, home-style manufacturer, and because of the demand, the brand started a milk-processing plant in Kolhapur. Then they started production of byproducts of milk like Shrikhand, Basundi, Amrakhand, and Paneer. The plant is equipped with machinery, technology, and technical personnels like Food Technologists, Quality Assurance Officers, Microbiologists etc. Today the plant can handle a capacity of 1,50,000 litres of milk per day. Presently their distribution covers some areas of southern Maharashtra and now the brand aims at entering Mumbai, Nagpur and other metro cities.
